Simon is the pseudonym of Susanna Gregory and Beau Riffenburgh when they write jointly. Together they have written eight Geoffrey Mappestone novels and contributed to several Medieval Murderer books. Recently, they have ventured into more modern times The Nimrod Murders is set in early 20th century London, and The Murder House takes place in 21st century Bristol.

Set during the time of crusades, this is a mystery series with a knight geofferey mappestone playing the sherlock. The series captures the 1000 year ago landmarks and situations beautifully be it the holy land jerusalum or the rainy english country side. What is most rivetting about the series is the lengths to which a human can get to get whta he or she wants. The stories are simply written but often have a tendancy to be dragged beyond requirement. The characters are fleshed out nicely and there are enough twists to make one comeback to the plot again and again. There is not much war or fight sequences whichmade it littlemore tedious to read for me but it was neverthless enjoyable

I would give this series 3.5/ 5

The series can be accessed here
