The Amazon Echo Input is the smallest and cheapest Echo device from the company which allows you to turn any average speaker into a connected, smart deviceCompact, useful and just right for the job is how we would describe the Echo Input. It adds Alexa’s AI smarts to “dumb” speakers, while also enabling Bluetooth streaming to them, either via its own service or even through the paired smartphone. For the price, it’s hard to not recommend the Echo Input to those who don’t already have an Echo device.

  • Very compact
  • Easy to setup
  • Brings Bluetooth connectivity to regular speakers
  • Great value for money

  • Can't choose between Bluetooth and cabled output when both are connected
  • Responsiveness drops after 8 feet

Agree. Makes more sense to wait and build a bigger budget to get a better speaker

I like the price.  I have an echo dot, and connect it to a bose speaker.  So, great sound.  What is nice about the dot vs. the input is when it becomes disconnected from the bose, i still can hear it and tell it to easily reconnect.  I assume out of luck with the speakerless input.
