Would you pick a book with a blurb that interests you, but one that has average to bad reviews? Do you play it safe picking a book from your favorite author, or an author whose book you have already read? If you prefer more than one, do share it in your reply.
I think first it is the book cover.
It needs to catch the eye and secondly if the blurb attracts me I will choose it.
But if I've already known the writer it also helps.
Its well said and well known that "Dont judge a book by its cover" but still in 60% cases its the cover which impose a good impression of book. its kindle age but still hard copies are read a lot and i have noticed many readers flip the book while reading and take a glance at the cover several times while reading. one more example of this is that we put a good cover on our study books but we never cover our favorite novels. we keep them with care bur never put cover on them. we like to look at them even after we have finished. for ebooks i always add high resolution and best edition cover on them.
blurb attracts me the most...but I have bought many a trashy books based on excellent blurb time and again..:-( Now I prefer to check the Genre and review too before spending hard earned money...
