by Neil Gaiman

The books plunges us into a world where gods are living amongst us with their strengths derived from how much people remember and cherish them. The old gods are mostly forgotten and struggling by, challenged by the modern gods of technology and media. Our protagonist  Shadow is introduced into this world by a mysterious Mr. Shadow and the story follows the on a road trip acroos America. The soul of the book is Mr. Gaiman's writing describing all the nuances and details celebrating all the myths and legends of United States.


Rating : 5/5

Undoubtedly the best book by one of the living giants of fantasy fiction.

Had read this book sometime back. though its an intresting read but I found some passages unnecessarily long and a bit boring. But a good read for sure

Its not a take on religion but its a fictional work where gods roam the earth disguised as humans.

I also enjoyed the Starz treatment in Season 1 (8 episodes).
Premise: a hidden world where magic is real, where the Old Gods fear irrelevance and the growing power of the New Gods, including Technology and Media.
Ian McShane is brilliant. CGI is brilliant.
Season 2 starts 10 MAR 2019.

Since the day I came to know that this book has inspired a series, Its on my shopping list.
E book is in kindle, and audio-book link is with me.... Still I need more inspiration to start it ;-D

Yes, I know. But somehow after reading Graveyard Book, I felt like 'owning a hard copy' of Gaiman, means different thing altogather.
