We all have our favorite genres. Those that we cannot get enough of. But if you had to choose one genre, what would it be? And why? Do share.

I write for children and teens and consequently read a lot in the young adult/children genres. I think there is immense variety in what's written for the younger audience. And most times it is soothing to read about their world than that of adults. What I find annoying about many American books in this genre is the bullying issue, which is mentioned or explored in detail. Gets tedious reading about it after a point.

No doubt, Mystery, Suspense and thrillers. Because this gene have so many potential, it could be science fiction, it could be Mytho fiction, Romance could be part of it. This genre novel are alwyas page turners and continue your interest until last page.

Obviously, mystery  and suspense. I am not surprised it is leading the vote. All human beings fall for the unknown and the mysterious. unlike other genre, this really has you riveted to the book  and you do not pause till you hit the climax.

I have been hinting at this genre for quite some time now, haven't I? There could be different reasons for different readers. Why I find it interesting is because it keeps me engrossed, there's always a lurking question as to what's going to happen next? which prods me on to read on, it also shows how devious the author can get through his/her characters, it stimulates your own grey cells to think and see if you can predict the suspense and thereby making it an interactive sort of genre. Yeah, I love it. All other genres can take a back seat!

Like Non-fiction as they resemble the real world scenarios & how it was tackled.

Non Fiction. I prefer truth and facts over anything and everything else.
