► QUICK GUIDE.

Editado por Pedro_P en 19-9-2018 03:45 PM

·
QUICK GUIDE
·
·
Introduction
·
In order that users can develop their activities within the Readers Club section, a Quick Guide has been developed, which will allow an easy and quick understanding of how the section is designed and what is possible to do within it.
·
The section has been structured with a set of categories that facilitate the ordering and typing of threads that can be created and developed by users.
·
• The following is a quick view of the established categories:

1. Discussion

2. Reading Recommendations

3. Book Reviews

4. Group Reads

5. Writer's Corner

6. News

7. Interviews

8. Quotes

9. Research & Projects

10. Bibliographic References

11. Screenshots

·
Note: The [Annoucement] category is intended solely and exclusively for the use of the Moderators Team, please refrain from using it.
·
The following explanatory content  will help you understand how categories of the Readers Club section are defined and how you can use them to typify your thread according to the activity or type of content you intend to write.
·
1. Discussion.
Exchange ideas and opinions about books or authors under the Discussion category. Members can also discuss about reading in general. (*)
Please, take a look at the following example that illustrates how you can use this category: [Discussion] [Example 1]
·
2. Reading Recommendations.
Liked a recent book you read, and highly recommend it? Or want to recommend your favorite book? Share your reading recommendations under the category. Of all the recommendations for readings shared during the week, one will be chosen to be included in the Reading Recommendations in the Reading Room section.
Please, take a look at the following example that illustrates how you can use this category: [Reading Recommendations] [Example 2]
·
3. Book Reviews.
Share your reviews under the book review category. Be sure to include the name of book and author in the title. We also suggest you include the blurb (Goodreads and Amazon are a good source). If the book is available at the forum, do post the link to it.
• Recommendation: Do not post your review of the on going group read pick under the category. The book will be discussed in the discussion thread only.
Please, take a look at the following example that illustrates how you can use this category: [Book Reviews] [Example 3]
·
4. Group Reads.
What is a Book Club without a Group Read?
The Readers Club picks a book a month through a process of nomination and voting. Once the book is selected, members interested in the Group Read need to check in at the discussion thread to confirm their participation.
On the decided date (depending on the participating members and no later than 20th of the month), members can begin discussing the book, sharing their reviews and opinions.
> The Group Read is open for all members.
> All Group Reads process threads are created by the mods only.
> Any threads created by members will be deleted.

We have schedule of genres, refer to the post (Create a new thread in the section).

> If only two or more members are interested in reading a book, nominate a book for a buddy read by posting the title in this introduction thread. (Create a new thread in the section).
> Do include when you are planning to read it.
> When you see a book nominated that you want to read, post your interest in this thread. Once agreed upon, proceed to create a separate thread with tag [Buddy Reads] and continue your discussion there.
> There would be no group nominations or voting for buddy reads.
> The buddy read is not limited to two members, more members can join in if desired.
Please, take a look at the following example that illustrates how you can use this category: [Group Reads] [Example 4]
·
5. Writer's Corner.
A space for all budding writers who want to share their work of fiction with the CraxMe users. Any member who wishes to share their work need to use the appropriate tag and post their content with relevant title and a short description.
Warning: ZERO TOLERANCE FOR PLAGIARISM.
We here at CraxMe forum understand the importance of hardwork and toil and how much of an effort it takes to create a work. Do not plagiarise or copy other's work and pass it off as your own. If found guilty, the penalty would certainly be high.
• Recommendations:
> Try and not flood your thread pages with irrelevant chats.
> Also as far as possible try an use a Beta Reader⑴  before posting your work.
> Every once in a while, the development team will open recruitment for Beta Readers⑴ and list their names.
> Any member who wishes to post their work can get in touch with the betas to have a second opinion.
⑴_Note: A Beta Reader is a test reader of an unreleased work of literature or other writing (similar to beta testing in software), who gives feedback from the point of view of an average reader to the author. The feedback is used by the writer to fix issues with plot, pacing, and consistency.
Please, take a look at the following example that illustrates how you can use this category: [Writers Corner] [Example 5]
·
6. News.
Share all the current news and press releases regarding the literary world (releases of new books, re-issues, the death of a writer, news about Nobel Literature, etc.).
• Be sure to include a link to the source.
• Before posting the news item, run a search to ensure that the news item has not be shared.⑵
Members are free to include their opinions about the news item as a part of the post.
Please, take a look at the following example that illustrates how you can use this category: [News] [Example 6]
·
7. Interviews.
All public domain interviews relating to books, authors, publishers, literature, editors or characters can be posted under the category.
• Members can share interviews from written, audio or video sources.
• Be sure to include a link to the source in your post. Before posting the interview, run a search to ensure that the news item has not be shared.
• Members are free to include their opinions about the news item as a part of the post.
Please, take a look at the following example that illustrates how you can use this category: [Interviews] [Example 7]
·
8. Quotes.
Share your favorite quotes or phrases of the authors of books or celebrities.
• Again, be sure not to post a duplicate thread, it will be deleted.
• Please, group all the Quotes of the same author, in a single thread, the publication of multiple threads or posts with individual and separate Quotes will not be allowed.
Please, take a look at the following example that illustrates how you can use this category: [Quotes] [Example 8]
·
9. Research & Projects.
A specialised section solely dedicated for users who are undertaking any research for their academia or otherwise. You can create mini groups and share relevant information for your research topics.

Warning:
> Before opening a thread for research, post a thread with blurb of all that entails the research. This would help like-minded people to join.
> Once the thread for research is open, do not stray away from the topic and maintain all hyperlinks and information in the first page, updating it as and when required.

• Recommendations:
> Try to cap the number of participants to ten if possible as it will allow better discussion and understanding of all topics at hand.
> Designate one member as a leader for a particular thread whose job, while the research is being undertaken, will be to maintain the thread and send out invites to members who want to join in.
Please, take a look at the following example that illustrates how you can use this category: [Research & Projects] Example 9
·
10. Bibliographic References.
Lawyers, doctors, engineers, or any other field of profession or study. Whether a member is a student or otherwise, a list of bibliographic references is extremely useful as a single source of books on the subject.
Members can share Bibliographic References about the topic of choice, and include all the books referring to the subject, which are available or not in the Reading Room section.
• Remember to add the subject tag ([Law], [Medicine], etc).

• If a member would like to add to the list, please do not create a new thread but post in the one already created.
• Do note, it only includes the links to the books. Books cannot be uploaded outside the Reading Room.
Please, take a look at the following example that illustrates how you can use this category: [Bibliographic References] [Example 10]
·
11. Screenshots.
Share photographic snapshots or screenshots of the books you are reading, or one of your library.
These can be print books or ebooks.
Members can include book covers or favorite passages.
• Do not post a pic copied from elsewhere. Share your own copies only.
Please, take a look at the following example that illustrates how you can use this category: [Screenshots] [Example 11]
·
(*) ■ Additional Information: If you  wish to exchange opinions or comment on a book that has been shared in the Reading Room section, you can indicate in a thread, the link that leads to the thread that contains the book in the Reading Room section, Any of the Moderators will proceed to indicate within the thread that contains the book, a link inviting users to participate in the exchange of ideas and opinions in its thread.
·
If you have any questions or difficulties, please contact the moderators team in charge of the section, through the section's chat thread.
